Im a 62 year old man who started limping with my right leg a year ago. I went to many Drs before I was tested and found to have Progressive MS. I have been on Rebif for several months and continue to get worse. I saw the you tube about Preston Walker and I would like to have the same treatment.
Update we have all my medical records and passports for our trip to Costa Rica the 1rst of Nov. We will try to keep everyone updayed on how this goes.
I too had significant discomfort w/ my 1st injection ~ ask the doc to wait longer between the numbing injection & the stem cell injection ~ that's what I did & subsequent injections were fine.
I know everyone is different, but I found it helpful to go do as much as possible because it kept my mind off the lipo discomfort (we went ziplining three days after lipo / the harness get-up was okay on me but Preston said it bothered him) ~ I figured I'd rather be uncomfortable seeing sights than being uncomfortable looking at the walls of the hotel room :-)
Make sure John wears his binder! Besides what it's intended for post-op, it seems to help w/ holding abdominal muscles in, which in turn (my experience, anyway) helped w/ strengthening during PT.
Enjoy your time there ~ it's a beautiful & relaxing place to unwind ~ I miss it so much! Check around before going to the beach ~ I seem to remember that one side is pretty bad w/ mosquito's & Dengue Fever while the other is not.
Check w/ the mgmt at the Christina to see if this is still the case: Folks can reach you free of charge by calling; 1-773-253-5137 & giving your room #.
Hey thanks for the heads-up on the video link for Preston ~ I'd missed that one, somehow! Hope all is well w/ you guys ~ ready for your own trip to CR?

Hi Barbara! I'm doing well, thanks for asking :-) I hope John has a great outcome & I hope you'll document everything for us here.
I was just there two weeks. but if I had it to do again, I'd stay four weeks ~ I absolutely love it there.
I doubt you will be bored, looking for something to do :-) seems we were only in our room when I had to lay out for five hrs after an intrathecal. If you like this kind of thing, there's a casino next door to the O'Livio (street entrance side) whee you could go whiles he's down & out.
John will have to quit smoking, no two ways about it ~ I smoked right up until the day before my 1st procedure ~ really wish I'd had the willpower to quit well before that. Tell him that by week three, it's much easier.
It was definitely worth going ~ I'd have felt cheated or been 2nd-guessing myself indefinitely, had I never given it a try ...
We flew Continental ~ I'll do everything in my power to never, ever fly Continental again, after that trip. I guess Nov' is too soon for SW Airlines to get their svc to CR launched, so I'd probably pick American Airlines as 2nd choice.
Something I learned, (thx to Continental causing us to spend inordinate amounts of time in the Houston airport coming & going) ~ try to fly early in the morn ~ airport personnel just seemed friendliest & most helpful then, but a little less so as the day goes on into evening.
I'm doing just so-so right now ~ too soon for remylination to have taken place & its been incredibly hot here, so I've only noticed small improvements so far.
If you search around online, you can find some weather sites that will show you temps same time last year in San Jose ~ that may come in handy for knowing what clothes to pack (I believe Nov' is when their rainy season ends). The Christina has a laundry-mat in the basement ~ very handy for packing light & as I recall, you paid for machines but not detergent.
Have you already booked your trip to Costa Rica in Nov'? Will you be going to San Jose or Panama? I've heard that ICM has raised their trtmt rates ~ do you know if they have, & by how much?
I'm looking forward to hearing about your (John's) experience & progress ~ I hope you'll Blog & post many photos here.
Let me know if you have questions that I can help w/. Best wishes!
go to www.cellmedicine.com. Once you get there, click on the patient application link at the bottom of the page. After you complete it, they will contact you concerning your candidacy for the treatment.
I know many praise the LDN as a very effective, inexpensive med ~ sure hope it helps John.
I leave Sat ~ in three days! Just decided that taking my laptop will not enhance the vacation aspect of it all ~ haven't had one in ages, who knows when I'll be somewhere as pretty as Costa Rica again ~ so, I'm going to make it a goal to be not be doing the same things I'm always doing at home, even if that only means laying by the pool :-) Updates will be hit-n-miss until I get back, I suspect ...

There are quite a few people here on this site ; Janice Fuller and two that come to mind immediately. There is about 80-100 people from D/FW that have been. Only a fraction of us show up at a monthly meeting but most are interested in talking. On to…
Thanks Preston, that is wonderful to hear. Who else do you know of that has gone to Costa Rica that would not mind discussing the journey with a prospie like me?
I believe they understand it as much as they can. Dr. Neil Riordan, who is the CEO of the clinic, has a very good understanding of what is going on...You can find a number of his papers posted online by searching.. He is a research scientist and dir…
